About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Developer to join a large-scale public sector initiative. In this role, you will translate technical system specifications into working, tested applications and provide hands-on development across the full software development life cycle.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop detailed programming specifications and write/generate code
- Compile, maintain, and conduct unit tests on data-driven programs
- Resolve and troubleshoot technical problems arising during software use and operation
- Support implementation, conversion, and migration activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT and business teams throughout the SDLC
- Conduct design walkthrough sessions with project teams
- Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in IT projects
- 10+ years of experience as a designer/developer in large-scale, multi-client web applications
- 10+ years of hands-on Java development with Oracle or SQL databases
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with REST APIs and RESTful Web Services
- Solid expertise in data and business modeling (ERD, BPMN, UML, data flow diagrams, process mapping)
- Experience composing Data Requirements Documents (DRD) or System Requirements Documents (SRD)
- Experience creating Data Models (ERD, UML, Data Flow Diagrams)
- Experience extracting data via SQL and LINQ
- Knowledge of microservice architecture and core architecture principles




- Knowledge of security gateways and protocols (JWT, OAuth 2.0, SSL Certificates)
- Proficiency in Java, REST, SOAP, and Docker
- Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, and Confluence
- Experience with Visio, Lucidchart, or MIRO for process modeling
- Familiarity with SharePoint and MS Teams
- Experience in systems re-engineering, workflow optimization, and automation
- Ability to work in both Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and Waterfall environments

Oracle-Specific Skills (Asset)

- Experience with Oracle E-Business customizations and extensions
- Strong skills in PL/SQL, SQL, XML, Unix shell scripts, and Oracle Data Integrator
- Business knowledge of GL, AR, Collections, AP, and Inventory modules
- Knowledge of SQL tuning and partition tables
- Experience with data warehousing, ETL methodologies, and OBIEE
- Java and Oracle ADF experience is a strong asset

Nice to Have

- Ontario Public Sector (OPS) experience strongly preferred
- Knowledge of OPS development standards and processes
- Experience with RAD methodologies
- Understanding of AODA and related accessibility regulations
- Experience with middleware and gateways
