The Dispatch Operations Coordinator supports inbound transportation operations by sourcing freight, coordinating Gateway shipments, communicating with customers, managing trailer movements, and supporting fleet utilization. The role works closely with the Lead Operations Coordinator to ensure efficient inbound planning, timely customer service, and effective coordination between Operations and Accounting.
Responsibilities
Load Planning & Brokerage
- Source and book inbound freight using customer relationships and brokerage platforms.
- Coordinate Gateway intrastate shipments.
- Maximize equipment utilization.
- Monitor shipment progress.
Customer Service
- Respond to customer inquiries.
- Provide shipment updates.
- Resolve freight issues.
- Obtain customer approvals for additional charges.
Trailer & Equipment Coordination
- Coordinate high-value trailer movements.
- Prepare trailer shunting schedules.
- Scale trailers to ensure legal weight compliance.
- Coordinate trailer transfers with City Dispatch.
Operational Reporting
- Prepare daily operational reports.
- Track booking activity.
- Maintain trailer movement records.
- Monitor operational KPIs.
Cross-Department Coordination
- Coordinate with Accounting regarding collections, customer credit verification,
and billing approvals.
- Work closely with Customs, Outbound Operations, and City Dispatch.
- Support inbound planning activities.
Qualifications
- Experience in transportation dispatch, brokerage, or logistics.
- Knowledge of cross-border transportation operations preferred.
- Experience using transportation management systems.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace.
Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:30am to 5:30pm
Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
