Coastal Support Services Ltd. is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and person-centred Residential Support Worker to join our Brain Injury Program in Nanaimo, BC.

Position Summary

As a Residential Support Worker, you will provide direct, hands-on support to two individuals with acquired brain injuries who live in a 24-hour residential setting.

Your role will include:

Providing compassionate, respectful, and person-centred support in the home.

Assisting with personal hygiene and daily living activities.

Supporting dietary needs and preparing nutritious meals.

Completing light housekeeping and maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming home environment.

Supporting community participation, social activities, and meaningful inclusion.

Encouraging independence while providing appropriate guidance and assistance.

Establishing and maintaining healthy, professional boundaries.

Monitoring and responding appropriately to individual needs.

Completing accurate and detailed progress notes after each shift.

Communicating relevant information and concerns to the Management Team.

Contributing to a safe, caring, and dignified living environment.

Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

A Residential Care Aide, Community Support Worker Diploma, or equivalent education in a related field is preferred.

A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with acquired brain injuries,



or equivalent relevant experience, is preferred.

Experience supporting individuals with diverse needs in a residential or community setting.

Strong communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.

The ability to establish and maintain appropriate personal and professional boundaries.

A valid driver's licence and a clean driver's abstract, required prior to the start date.

The ability to obtain a current Criminal Record Check for working with vulnerable adults.

FoodSafe Level 1 is considered an asset.

Position Details

Job Type: Part-time / Casual

Location: Nanaimo, BC

Schedule: 12 hour shifts 6am- 6pm, 6pm-6am, awake overnights, weekends, weekdays, holidays.
