Program: Housing Supports Program
Position: Program Coordinator
Full-Time, Term: 35 Hours per Week
Anticipated Schedule: Weekday, Daytime; Occasional evenings and weekends to support work within the community.
Agency Overview
The Elizabeth Fry Society of Northern Alberta (EFry) advances the dignity and worth of women, girls, and gender-diverse people who are criminalized and those considered at risk. We offer programs and services in community and in prisons that address the ongoing and unique challenges experienced by the people we serve.
We remain deeply concerned about the over-representation of Indigenous women in our carceral systems and the intersections of poverty, addictions, mental health, homelessness, and criminalization.
One of our priorities is addressing the intersections of homelessness and criminalization. Through our partnerships, EFry operates and develops housing initiatives that support women and gender-diverse people in working toward stability, independence, and their individual goals.
Our housing programs provide opportunities for individuals who have experienced barriers such as homelessness, institutionalization, poverty, mental health challenges, and other systemic barriers to access housing and the supports needed to move forward.
Position Overview
EFry is seeking compassionate, resourceful, and organized Housing Coordinators to support individuals navigating housing systems and working toward greater stability and independence.
The Housing Coordinator serves as a key liaison between participants, landlords, housing providers, community agencies, and government services. This position supports individuals through the housing process, from initial screening and intake to identifying barriers, accessing essential services and benefits, securing appropriate housing, and establishing connections that support housing stability.
Working collaboratively with participants and community partners, the Housing Coordinator provides practical assistance, advocacy, referrals, and ongoing coordination to help individuals navigate complex systems and achieve their housing goals.

- Support participants in gathering required documentation and completing applications for housing and community resources.
- Provide housing navigation, advocacy, and practical support throughout the transition toward independent housing.

- Assist participants in identifying appropriate rental opportunities and navigating the application process.
- Support communication between participants and landlords, where appropriate, to help address housing concerns and promote successful tenancies.
- Assist in identifying and resolving potential tenancy barriers, including documentation, communication, and access to community supports.
- Advocate for participants while fostering positive relationships with housing providers.
4. Program Administration & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely participant files, intake records, referrals, and housing outcome documentation.
- Track participant progress, housing placements, referrals, and other program outcomes in accordance with funding requirements.
- Prepare required program statistics, reports, and documentation for funders and internal reporting.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure documentation and information sharing align with EFry policies and applicable privacy requirements.
- Contribute to program development, service improvements, and effective community partnerships.
- Other duties as assigned.
