Job Overview

- We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator & Detailor to prepare accurate project estimates and create clear, build-ready drawings and documentation.
- This role works with project, design, and construction teams to interpret plans and specifications, assess material and labor needs, and support projects from initial review through production or installation.
- The ideal candidate is organized, communicates effectively, and can balance estimating accuracy with careful drafting and detailing.

Duties

- Review project plans, specifications, and customer requirements to understand scope, dimensions, materials, and deliverables.
- Prepare estimates by calculating quantities, reviewing material requirements, and documenting assumptions and scope details.
- Create and revise CAD drawings, shop drawings, details, and schematics in accordance with project standards.
- Coordinate drawing information with project managers, engineers, vendors, and construction teams; resolve discrepancies and clarify design intent.
- Maintain accurate drawing files, estimate records, revisions, and project documentation.
- Support quality checks by verifying dimensions, quantities,



and drawing consistency before submission or release.
- Use appropriate drafting and visualization tools; experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, SketchUp, or NavisWorks is welcome.
- Apply 2D animation skills where useful for illustrating processes, layouts, or design concepts.

Experience

- Years experience in estimating, detailing, drafting, or a related technical role is preferred.
- Steel fabrication experience or familiarity with plans, materials, and project workflows is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of CAD and drafting principles, including the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with one or more of the listed software platforms is preferred; candidates should be comfortable learning tools used by the team.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet project deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
