Position overview

Perth Environmental, a Minus Waste Solutions company, is seeking a full-time Vac Truck Operator with an Ontario AZ licence. Based in Brunner, this role combines professional driving with hands-on vacuum truck operation, yard work and liquid and organic waste services for food service and industrial customers.

Key responsibilities

· Safely operate vacuum trucks and tractor trailers to collect, transport and offload liquid and organic waste at approved facilities.

· Pump out interceptors and grease traps; connect, operate and maintain hoses, lines, fittings and other equipment.

· Spend approximately half a day working in the yard, including hauling a minimum of two outbound loads of waste from the Oil Barn to designated anaerobic digestion or wastewater treatment facilities as well as washing trucks and any other yard duties.

· Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and follow MTO, environmental and company safety requirements.

· Maintain accurate service tickets, driving logs and other required job and route records.

· Keep trucks, hoses, fittings, valves and work areas clean and organized.

· Provide professional customer service and communicate service issues promptly to dispatch.

Qualifications

· Valid Ontario AZ driver’s licence, satisfactory driver’s abstract and CVOR record, and at least three years of AZ driving experience.





· Knowledge of MTO regulations and safe heavy-vehicle operation in varied road and weather conditions.

· Liquid tanker, vacuum truck or hydrovac experience is an asset.

· Ability to follow GPS, maps and written instructions and work independently.

· Robust customer service, communication, time management and problem-solving skills.

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Ability to perform the physical duties of the role, including lifting up to 50 lb, climbing, bending and working outdoors in all seasons.

Schedule and compensation

· Full-time position with Brunner, Ontario as the proposed home base.

· Regular five-day schedule comprising four weekdays and one weekend day, Saturday or Sunday.

· Mid- to late-morning start times, with flexibility to work up to 10 hours when emergencies arise.

· Starting wage of $32.00 per hour.
