Position Summary

The Autobody Painter is responsible for preparing and painting vehicle surfaces and components as part of the armored and specialty vehicle manufacturing process. This role includes surface preparation, sanding, masking, application of primers, sealers, and base coats, as well as minor disassembly and reassembly of vehicle parts. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

· Prepare vehicle surfaces and components for painting by sanding, filling imperfections, cleaning, taping, and masking

· Apply primers, sealers, base coats, and other paint materials in accordance with production and quality requirements

· Mix and prepare paint materials according to specifications and manufacturer instructions

· Inspect and prepare surfaces to ensure they are clean, smooth, and ready for paint application

· Perform minor disassembly and reassembly of vehicle body parts and components as required for painting and preparation

· Identify surface defects or imperfections and perform necessary preparation or corrective work

· Safely operate sanding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment required for autobody preparation and painting

· Follow established painting procedures and maintain consistent quality standards

· Work in a safe and efficient manner to meet production targets and deadlines

· Maintain a clean and organized work area

· Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

· Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor

Qualifications

· 1–2 years of hands-on experience in autobody painting, automotive paint preparation, or a related role

· Experience with sanding, masking, taping, and surface preparation

· Experience applying primers, sealers, base coats,



and other automotive paint materials

· Knowledge of paint mixing, preparation, and application techniques

· Experience working in an automotive or manufacturing setting considered an asset

· Ability to identify and correct surface imperfections prior to painting

· Ability to perform minor disassembly and reassembly of vehicle body parts and components

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

· Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and sanding equipment

· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding production environment

· Ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace

· Must have appropriate safety footwear
