Job Summary

We are looking for a reliable, hard-working Residential HVAC Helper / Apprentice to join our team based out of Roseneath, ON. Working under the UA Local 787 Collective Agreement, you will assist lead Residential Journeypersons with installing, replacing, and maintaining furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork across the local surrounding area.

Candidates must be able to commute daily to our shop location in Roseneath, where shifts begin and end.

Responsibilities

- Report to the shop daily for morning staging, loading equipment, and dispatch.
- Assist Journeypersons on residential job sites with furnace, A/C, and heat pump installations and retrofits.
- Handle material staging, running flex/rigid ducting, pulling wire, and piping under direct supervision.
- Maintain clean job sites in homeowners' residences, protecting property with drop cloths and boot covers.
- Keep company vans and the shop area clean, organized, and stocked.
- Follow all health, safety, and union protocols on every job site.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Commute: Reliable personal transportation to travel daily to our shop in Roseneath, ON.
- Driver’s License: Valid Ontario Driver’s License (G) with a clean driving abstract.
- Gas Certification: TSSA Gas Technician 3 (G3) license required (TSSA Gas Technician 2 / G2 license is strongly preferred).
- Safety Certifications:



Working at Heights and WHMIS required (ODP/ODR license is an asset).
- Physical Ability: Comfortable lifting heavy equipment (50+ lbs), climbing ladders, and working in residential basements, attics, and crawl spaces.
- Mechanically inclined, reliable, polite, and respectful when working in customer homes.

Compensation & Benefits (UA Local 787 Agreement)

- Union Wages: Pay rates, increases, and overtime are governed strictly by the UA Local 787 Residential Collective Agreement based on your apprentice/helper standing.

- Training: Access to ongoing technical training and apprentice upgrading through the Local 787 training facility.
- Note on Displayed Pay: The hourly pay rate displayed on Indeed reflects standard UA Local 787 apprentice wage scales. Actual hourly pay is determined strictly by your registered apprentice standing under the union agreement.

Schedule

- Full-time, with shift work when needed
- Seasonal overtime as required during heating/cooling peak seasons
