Build reliable Java microservices at Citi using concurrency, observability, and automated testing for mission-critical distributed systems. This full-time position seeks experienced back-end engineers.

The Senior Java Back-End Developer leads end-to-end technical delivery while remaining hands-on with core services. You will apply Spring Boot, REST or GraphQL, message streaming, and quality gates across scalable platforms. Responsibilities include performance tuning, resiliency, security, and collaboration with product, platform, and security stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop core services with Java 17+ and Spring Boot
- Optimize concurrency, performance, observability, and operational excellence
- Drive unit, integration, and contract testing strategies




- Design data contracts and resilient integration patterns
- Communicate technical trade-offs to diverse audiences

Requirements:

- 5+ years of progressive enterprise systems experience
- 5+ years using Java and Spring at scale
- Proven cloud-native, microservices, and event-driven architecture delivery
- Understanding of fault tolerance, circuit breakers, retries, and bulkheads
- Bachelor’s degree or university degree, or equivalent experience
