Build qualifying design experience toward a Professional Engineering designation at Hammond Power Solutions, designing transformers and reactors in Guelph. Customer interaction remains central.

This Electrical Engineering Designer - L1 position reports to the Manager Electrical Engineering Design, LV. You will make technical decisions for medium-complexity designs while receiving guidance for more complex work. Responsibilities span customer discussions, cost-effective solutions, quotes, manufacturing support, test report approval, and timely project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop transformer and reactor designs with technical guidance
- Discuss application requirements, clarifications, and suggestions with customers
- Prepare optimized designs and MIP for orders




- Support manufacturing and approve completed test reports
- Follow COD project requirements and timelines

Requirements:

- Three to five years of transformer design experience
- Electrical Engineering degree preferred; technologist qualification accepted
- Working toward or eligible for Professional Engineering designation
- Hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving and learning
- Robust communication skills and Microsoft Office proficiency
