Use plans examination and zoning knowledge as a Municipal Building Code Examiner for the City of London’s Building Division in Ontario.

This permanent full time position reports to the Manager III, Plans Examination, within Housing and Community Growth. You will assess small residential and other small to medium building submissions, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code Act, municipal by-laws, and applicable laws.

Key Responsibilities:

- Examine submitted drawings, plans, specifications, and design data
- Check residential plans against applicable zoning by-laws
- Review applications for complete processing information
- Enter applications and update computerized permit records
- Calculate or collect user fees and issue receipts

Requirements:

- Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
- Three-year Community College Diploma in Architectural Technology or equivalent
- Three years of building construction experience
- Required provincial qualifications under Division C Section 3.1
- Maintain qualifications established by the Ministry

Support accurate municipal permitting through architectural review, zoning assessment, database updates, and Ontario Building Code compliance.
