Join The Upper Canada District School Board Under the supervision of the Facilities Operations Manager and the direction of the Head or Lead Custodian, the Custodian is responsible for the appearance of the building and operation of a specific worksite. The Principal may provide direction to the Custodian within the school in conjunction with the Facilities Operations Manager. A secondary school diploma with a minimum of six months cleaning and general maintenance experience in a school facility is required. Demonstrated experience in small equipment repair and maintenance is an asset. The successful candidate may be required to obtain specific courses and/or certifications relevant to his or her worksite(s) such as water treatment certificate, lockout / tag out, fall arrest, WHMIS, etc. Enrolment in or successful completion of the Building Environmental Systems (BES) courses are an asset.
