About the Role
Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy firm, is seeking a talented Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their growing team in Kimberley, Northern Cape . This role involves the conceptualization, design, and development of chemical processes for a diverse range of industrial projects. The position operates on a hybrid model, combining dedicated remote workdays with essential on-site meetings and project collaborations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in chemical engineering principles, extensive experience with process simulation software, and a keen ability to translate client requirements into practical engineering solutions. This role offers significant opportunities to contribute to impactful projects across various sectors. Develop conceptual designs and feasibility studies for new chemical processes. Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;). Perform mass and energy balances for chemical processes. Size and specify process equipment, including reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, and separation units. Utilize process simulation software (e.g.,



Collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, civil). Prepare technical specifications and documentation for procurement and construction. Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects. Conduct design reviews and participate in HAZOP studies. BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc in Chemical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process design and engineering. Proficiency in process simulation and design software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, AutoCAD P&ID;). Strong understanding of chemical engineering fundamentals, including fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and reaction engineering. Knowledge of process safety principles and hazard analysis techniques. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage project tasks. Candidates should be based in or willing to relocate to Kimberley, Northern Cape .
