Process surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimens as a Laboratory Technician at Southlake Health in Newmarket, Ontario, with skilled accuracy.

This permanent, casual Laboratory Technician position provides professional service within a hospital laboratory. You will perform specimen accessioning and processing under established Standard Operating Procedures. The work also includes supervised laboratory technical and non-technical functions, quality control, equipment maintenance, and inventory activities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Accession and process surgical specimens according to established SOPs
- Process cytology and flow cytometry specimens accurately
- Discard pathology specimens and waste in designated areas




- Perform equipment maintenance and inventory activities
- Complete laboratory quality control activities

Requirements:

- MLPAO certification or CSMLS certification required
- Hospital pathology laboratory experience preferred
- Accreditation process experience considered an asset
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem recognition and problem-solving skills
