Experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians can provide small-animal patient care with Alta Vista in Ottawa, using anesthesia monitoring and technical skills. This full-time position supports General Practice.

Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centre seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician with at least two years of hospital experience. The General Practice team provides examinations, diagnostics, treatments, surgeries, and medical procedures. Robust knowledge of patient care, anesthesia, pharmacology, and clinical procedures supports daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, treatments, and surgeries
- Prepare patients and monitor anesthesia, recovery, and pain management
- Place IV catheters and administer directed medications and fluids




- Collect and process laboratory samples and maintain medical records
- Educate clients about treatments, nutrition, and at-home care

Requirements:

- Minimum two years of hospital experience as an RVT
- Active or eligible OAVT Registered Veterinary Technician licensing
- Technical skills in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and laboratory procedures
- Ability to safely handle and restrain animals appropriately
- Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
