Advance K-12 health education as a Health Education Coordinator, supporting physical, sexual, mental, and substance use education across grade levels.

This .6 term position supports educators within the District’s Curriculum Transformation Team. You will develop professional learning, collaborate with teachers, and strengthen evidence-aligned health education approaches across elementary and secondary settings. The assignment is effective November 23 to June 30, 2027, or the incumbent’s earlier return.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and facilitate professional learning with departments and curriculum colleagues
- Plan collaboratively, demonstrate lessons, and co-teach with school-based teachers
- Lead district initiatives connected to the Curriculum Transformation Operational Plan




- Collaborate with Island Health on health education information
- Contribute content to Engage and approved online resources

Requirements:

- Minimum five years of recent successful teaching experience
- Experience teaching Health Education across K-12 grade levels
- Experience facilitating adult learning and career development
- Coaching and mentoring experience with educators
- Sexual Health Educator Certification (SHEC)
