About the Role

Our client, a growing software development house in Kimberley, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in Java and microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, test, and deploy robust and scalable microservices using Java.
- Implement RESTful APIs and integrate with various backend services and data sources.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Work with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to deploy and manage microservices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, frontend developers, and QA engineers.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Participate actively in code reviews and architectural discussions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.




- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software development.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in software development.
- Robust proficiency in Java and its ecosystem.
- Proven experience designing and implementing microservices architecture.
- Experience with Spring Boot framework is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is a plus.
- Knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) and messaging queues (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and agile development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
