Sunly Energy – Nova Scotia South is looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead Solar Installer to join our growing Solar operation. We're looking for someone with experience in solar installation, roofing, electrical work, or construction who enjoys working on the tools and has the confidence to lead a small crew. This is a working lead position, not a desk job. You'll be on the roof alongside your team, installing solar panels and racking, organizing daily tasks, solving problems, and ensuring projects are completed safely and efficiently. What You'll Do
As our Lead Solar Installer, you'll help lead the day-to-day installation of residential and commercial solar systems throughout Nova Scotia South. Responsibilities include:
- Work hands-on with the crew installing roof-mounted and ground-mounted solar systems
- Lead daily installation activities,



providing direction and support to other installers
- Install solar racking, panels, and associated equipment
- Read installation plans and ensure work follows approved designs and installation procedures
- Organize tools, materials, and daily tasks to keep projects moving efficiently
- Take pride in completing installations properly, minimizing deficiencies and return visits
- Work alongside qualified electricians on solar and battery installations, performing electrical work only within your authorized scope and under appropriate supervision
- Troubleshoot installation challenges and communicate with the project coordinator
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized job sites
- Follow all company safety procedures, including fall protection requirements What We're Looking For Required:
- Previous experience in solar installation, roofing, carpentry, electrical work, or a related construction trade
- Experience leading a small crew or coordinating construction or installation activities
- Robust hands-on skills with hand and power tools
- Comfortable working on rooftops and at heights
- Ability to read and follow installation drawings and instructions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's licence with an acceptable driver's abstract
- Ability to safely lift, carry,



and handle construction materials and equipment Assets:
- Previous solar panel installation experience
- Currently registered as an electrical apprentice or looking to continue an existing apprenticeship
- Residential roofing experience, including asphalt shingles or metal roofs
- Experience with solar racking, inverters, and battery storage systems
