Journeyperson Refrigeration Technician (Commercial) Edmonton, AB | Full-time, permanent $56 to $58.24/hr base, about $68 to $71/hr total package with paid vacation, RRSP match and advantages

Advantage Refrigeration is a team of 13 in Edmonton. We service commercial refrigeration, HVAC and kitchen equipment for grocery stores, cold storage, healthcare facilities, server rooms, production plants and warehouses, with 24/7 emergency service. We’re looking for an experienced tech who finds the root cause, fixes it properly, and explains it clearly to the client. Your setup

- You choose your on-call days with the team, a few days at a time, not full weeks Pay and benefits
- RRSP match: 5% after 3 months, 7% after year one, 10% after year three. Vested immediately. Profit sharing or share options after five years
- Paid time off: 3 weeks paid vacation to start, plus paid stat holidays, including Boxing Day. You can also trade wage dollars for extra paid weeks off
- Training: 100% of approved certifications paid, a $1,000/yr training allowance and 21 paid training hours a year
- Extra tickets pay more: a second ticket, like Class A gas or backflow, adds 2% to your base whether you bring it with you or earn it here. Approved tickets you earn with us also come with a $500 bonus
- Career path: Lead, Senior and Foreman, each with a pay increase
- Tools: $500/yr tool allowance that carries over up to $1,000, plus interest-free tool loans of $1,000 or $2,000. The tools are yours

- Overtime: time and a half, and double time after 12 consecutive hours
- Boot allowance: $300 every two years What you’ll do
- Service and repair commercial and industrial refrigeration, including cold storage, walk-ins, reach-ins, display cases, condensing units and ice machines
- Work on commercial HVAC and kitchen equipment
- Handle preventive maintenance for FreeTime™ program clients
- Take part in our on-call rotation
- Write clear service reports and mentor apprentices on your calls What you bring
- Alberta Journeyperson Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic certificate (Red Seal an asset)
- Commercial refrigeration service experience
- Valid Class 5 licence and a clean driving record
- Your own hand tools
- Clear communication with clients and the office
- Gas fitter ticket, boiler experience, controls experience or ice machine experience are assets
