Job Summary Victoria Children's Centre is seeking compassionate, dependable and adaptable Substitute Early Childhood Educators to join our team and support our classrooms as needed. We are a non-profit child care centre serving children from 18 months to 12 years of age. We are committed to providing inclusive, high-quality child care in a welcoming, positive and supportive environment. - Provide a safe, welcoming and positive environment for children
- Support daily routines, play-based learning experiences, meals, transitions and outdoor play
- Follow centre policies, procedures and licensing requirements
- Work collaboratively with educators and other staff
- Communicate professionally with children, families and coworkers
- Work across various classrooms based on staffing needs Qualifications




- Early Childhood Education diploma preferred
- Nova Scotia ECE classification (Level 1, 2 or 3) preferred
- Experience working with children in a licensed child care setting is an asset
- Current Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current Nova Scotia Child Abuse Registry Check
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Dependable, flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team Position Details
- Substitute/on-call position
- Must be available Monday to Friday, as needed
- Must be available for shifts between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
- Hours will vary based on staffing needs, with no guaranteed minimum hours per week
- Located in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia Pay: $18.00-$32.19 per hour Expected hours: No more than 0.0 per week Work
