The Editor will assign stories, write multiple weekly bylines, and edit all content before publication. The position replaces the long-time Editor preparing to retire. Candidates need local newspaper editing experience, journalism education, communication skills, and knowledge of digital publishing applications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assign stories to reporters and freelance contributors
- Write multiple bylines each week
- Edit content and determine newspaper coverage
- Help lay out the weekly newspaper with InDesign
- Represent the newspaper at community events

Requirements:

- Three to five years editing a local community newspaper
- College or university journalism degree
- Excellent communication and public interaction skills
- Proficiency with InDesign newspaper layout
- Working knowledge of social media and website applications
