About the role

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular full-time Building Systems Technician III to join our dynamic Enterprise Facilities team.

TheEnterprise Facilities team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by managing and maintaining the physical infrastructure and facilities of Canadian Blood Services.

- Leveragingyour experience, you will provide operation and maintenance of all systems and equipment associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) systems and all water treatment systems.
- Harnessingyour skills, you will perform inspections, testing, verification, and maintenance all life safety equipment operation.
- Capitalizingon your capabilities,



you will perform generalized departmental support functions and maintenance of buildings and grounds as required.
- Utilizing your sense of urgency, you will carry out after hours emergency response on-call duties on a rotational basis or as required by schedules.
- Leveraging your leadership skills, you will act as contracting manager: supervise contractors and ensure contract specifications are being met according to Canadian Blood Services regulatory requirements.
- Applying your knowledge, you will complete all required documentation related to work accurately and in a timely manner.

Desired education and skills

- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably in Heating & Cooling or Electrical systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- 4 years or more of experience operating a computerized building system and related equipment.
- Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate, Systems Maintenance Technician or equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
- Must have valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
