UNDO is tackling the greatest challenge of our time: climate change. We are a fast-growing for-profit business that is already one of the biggest carbon removal companies in the world. But this is only the start
- we have ambitious plans aligned with great funding, excellent people and an inclusive team. In 2025 UNDO was named one of four global winners of the $100M XPRIZE Carbon Removal competition, giving further recognition and credibility to enhanced rock weathering (ERW) as a carbon removal pathway, and UNDO as a scientific world leader in this field. In addition to our successful ERW operations, we’re now leveraging our expertise and underlying technology to deliver the UNDO Platform; the digital, financial, and scientific infrastructure that enables project developers around the globe to run scalable, bankable, and verifiable ERW carbon removal projects, generating billions of tonnes of verified CDR. Role summary
You'll sit at the intersection of quarrying operations, mineralogy and consulting, working directly with our platform partners to understand their current practices, assess and interpret mineralogy data, and translate that into practical, auditable feedstock protocols. You’ll bridge UNDO’s feedstock protocols and the real-world procedures at each partner’s quarry, making sure feedstock is representative, traceable and unchanged from sampling to spreading. You'll also represent UNDO's feedstock science externally, feeding into ERW methodology development and registry communications. This is a technical specialist role for someone who's comfortable moving between a quarry floor, a mineralogy dataset and a stakeholder conversation, and who wants their work to directly shape how an entire industry verifies carbon removal. For this role, we’re open to multiple working arrangements:
fractional, part time, consulting or other. Similarly, we’re flexible on location for this role across the UK, Europe or East Coast Canada. Feedstock protocols
Inform and influence UNDO's feedstock playbook, setting out what must be achieved at each stage of the feedstock lifecycle (in-situ characterization, crushing and grinding, screening, stockpiling, loading, transport, and chain-of-custody tracking) to allow project developers to maximize reactivity and credibility of their operations Adapt and refine the feedstock protocols as new mineralogy data and field learnings come in from individual partners, ensure their rock is suitable and traceable for ERW deployment, grounded in real quarry conditions rather than theoretical best practice Define UNDO's sampling requirements (Theory of Sampling, heterogeneity, sample size and frequency), then review and approve site-specific sampling plans with each partner, from in-situ characterization through to stockpile and delivery Feedstock assessment
Carry out initial feedstock analysis on partner rock sources, assessing suitability against both UNDO's and ERW methodology requirements Review and interpret existing partner mineralogy datasets, identifying risks, gaps and opportunities in their current feedstock practices Partner consulting
Act as the technical point of contact for quarry and feedstock partners,
understanding their current approach to extraction, processing and material handling Feed back risks and opportunities to partners in a way that's practical and actionable, not just scientifically correct. Including deposit variability, blending/segregation, stockpile contamination, fines loss, moisture, PTEs. Advise partners on operational practices to optimize potential feedstocks for ERW operations. E.g. grind size/specification, segregation of reactive material from waste rock, and QA/QC procedures at source Support partners who are building their quarrying operations from scratch, helping shape their setup around registry-aligned feedstock requirements from day one. Industry & registry engagement
Build UNDO's evidence base and case for amendments to the industry methodology, drawing on real feedstock and mineralogy data from the field Manage feedstock-related communications with registries, ensuring UNDO's protocols and data are documented and defensible Stay current on mining/quarrying industry practice and mineralogy science as it relates to ERW, so UNDO's protocol reflects the state of the art. Knowledge and experience
Strong working knowledge of mining or quarrying processes: how rock is extracted, processed and handled at source A degree in geology, mining engineering, geometallurgy or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience Experience interpreting quantitative mineralogy and geochemistry data (e.g. XRD, XRF, particle size distribution, etc), ideally for mafic and ultramafic silicate rock Experience with feedstock sampling and QA/QC, in a context where material quality and traceability matter (ERW, mining, aggregates, agriculture or a related industry) Deep awareness of feedstock hazards, such as N
