SUMMARY OF DUTIES

Reports to District Supervisor of roadway maintenance within the Transportation Division – Roadway Maintenance Section.

Operators within Roadway Maintenance perform duties across various seasonal programs, including but are not limited to:

- Road surface repair with hot and cold asphalt materials
- Road shoulder maintenance
- General ground litter/right of way debris removal.
- Roadside mowing & mechanical weed trimming
- Ditching & Culvert maintenance
- Sidewalk maintenance
- Vegetation management
- General aesthetic maintenance

Operates and performs basic inspections and maintenance on various pieces of equipment such as but not limited to: crew cabs, mechanical equipment and associated implements, backhoes, tractors, loaders, dump trucks, sweepers, asphalt rollers, flushers, and crew cabs with crane and/or electric tailgate attachments.

Must conduct pre/post trip inspections on all equipment that the Operator is assigned and qualified to operate. i.e. dump truck, crew cab, etc.
