As a Staff Engineer on Faire’s Search FX team, you will shape retailer-facing discovery surfaces. You will define technical direction across retrieval, ranking, personalization, and high-performance backend systems. The work includes partnering with Data Science, Product, Design, and client engineers to advance search experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define end-to-end architecture for search and discovery
- Integrate LLM-powered natural language search capabilities
- Build low-latency systems across millions of products
- Unify retrieval, ranking, and personalization systems




- Mentor engineers on technical decisions and excellence

Requirements:

- Seven-plus years of qualified software engineering experience
- Three-plus years leading complex cross-team technical projects
- Experience deploying machine learning and Gen-AI search systems
- Knowledge of traditional, semantic, and hybrid search frameworks
- Strong Kotlin or Java programming skills
