Public Health Nurse

Summary:

We have an existing vacancy for a part-time temporary (0.8 FTE) PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE starting in November 2026 ending June 30, 2027 on the Infectious Disease Team in the Health Protection Department. The position will be based from our Stratford - West Gore office.

Education:

- Baccalaureate degree in Nursing

Skills:

- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- excellent time management and organizational skills
- able to work independently and in a team setting
- proficient computers skills, including familiarity with Windows, Microsoft office programs and use of the Internet
- experience working with Databases (iPHIS, Accuro/EMR,



CCM)
- Case and Contact Management experience
- robust knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) practices

Conditions:

- Terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the ONA Collective Agreement
- Successful candidates must obtain and maintain a satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- immunizations in accordance with Board Policy/Collective Agreements including annual influenza and COVID-19 immunizations unless medically contraindicated
- Successful candidates must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Driver’s Licence and access to a safe and well-maintained vehicle suitable for carrying out duties on behalf of the employer

Hours:

Usually 8:30 am – 4:30 pm; Monday to Friday (flexible may include evenings and weekends)
