Shape strategic communications for the Town of Oakville using media relations, public engagement, and reputation management expertise. This permanent full time role supports municipal departments. Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Communications, the Senior Communications Advisor develops and implements internal and external plans. The role provides strategic advice, protects the Town’s brand, and communicates initiatives to employees and the community. Key Responsibilities:

Develop custom communications plans for municipal department clients Write media briefs, releases, newsletters, and digital content Manage collateral projects, budgets, vendors, and approvals Coordinate media inquiries, opportunities,



and onsite support Advise on reputation, issues, engagement, and marketing Requirements:

Degree, diploma, or certificate in communications or related field Minimum five years of relevant communications experience Strategic planning, public engagement, media, and social media expertise Exceptional writing and editorial skills Ability to collaborate with senior staff and Council members Bring municipal communications expertise, sound judgment, and compelling writing to advance the Town of Oakville’s public initiatives.
