2 Months Contract with a Local AuthorityUmbrella - £29.75 per hour - UmbrellaJob PurposeAs anEnvironmental Health Officer, you will investigate noise nuisance, environmental complaints and public health concerns, using statutory enforcement powers to protect residents, workers and visitors while ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.Key Duties/AccountabilitiesInvestigate noise nuisance complaints including construction noise, amplified music and barking dogs.Investigate public health and environmental issues including fly-tipping, bonfires and pest-related complaints.Carry out site inspections, visits and evidence gathering.Enforce Environmental Protection Act 1990 and related legislation.Issue and monitor legal notices and enforcement actions.Prepare detailed investigation reports and case records.Attend court proceedings and tribunals when required.Work closely with Licensing, Community Safety, Housing and other partner agencies.Provide advice to residents,



businesses and stakeholders on Environmental Health matters.Undertake witnessing visits and out-of-hours investigations.Maintain accurate records on council systems.Participate in environmental enforcement projects and initiatives.Support emergency response and public protection activities where required.Essential Experience RequiredQualified Environmental Health Officer or equivalent Environmental Health experience.Experience investigating noise nuisance and environmental complaints.Knowledge of Environmental Protection Act 1990 and related legislation.Experience carrying out inspections, investigations and enforcement activities.Experience preparing legal notices and case files.Report writing and evidence gathering experience.Strong communication and negotiation skills.Experience working within Local Authority Environmental Health services.Ability to work independently and manage a wide-ranging caseload.Experience attending court or tribunal proceedings desirable.Additional Information to NoteWorking Hours: 36 hours per week.Colindale, London, NW9 4EWOn-site Role.Standard DBS Required.Experience within Noise & Nuisance Enforcement highly desirable.Work may be required between 08:00 and 20:00.Out-of-hours and emergency response duties may be required.Supplier Submission Deadline: 23rd October 2026.We work on bi-weekly payment schedule.#J-18808-Ljbffr
