Apply geotechnical engineering skills with Stantec in a full-time 2027 co-op based in Calgary or Markham. Gain practical experience on mining projects.

This internship supports Energy and Resources projects involving tailings, dams, water-retaining infrastructure, and natural resources. Work alongside engineers, geoscientists, and technical specialists while applying academic concepts to engineering consulting. The flexible term runs four to eighteen months, commencing Summer 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support mining geotechnical work for tailings and waste rock structures
- Assist seepage, slope stability, settlement, and deformation analyses
- Develop borehole logs, test results, and field documentation
- Support material characterization and engineering design parameters




- Contribute to reports, drawings, specifications, and technical memoranda

Requirements:

- Currently enrolled in an accredited related engineering program
- Completed at least two years of undergraduate study
- Interest in geotechnical engineering and natural-resource projects
- Explicit communication and careful documentation skills
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required
