Teach aquatic lessons at the John W. Lindsay YMCA as a casual Swim Instructor using safety supervision and participant-focused communication.

Reporting to the Aquatics Manager, this position delivers inclusive programming for children, youth, and adults. You will supervise participants, maintain safe aquatic areas, and support YMCA standards. Seasonal scheduling requires at least 48 hours’ notice.

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise participants and maintain safe aquatic environments
- Recognize hazards and respond using approved emergency techniques
- Provide water rescue, first aid, and required follow-up
- Deliver Aquatics programming aligned with YMCA standards
- Build positive relationships and resolve participant concerns

Requirements:

- One to three years’ aquatic programming or lifeguarding experience
- Recognized Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor certification
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification
- Solid communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility for irregular hours and independent work
