ABOUT PRAKTIKAI
PRAKTIKAI is a Toronto-based data, AI, and digital transformation consultancy. We help manufacturers, supply chain organizations, and other businesses apply analytics, automation, machine learning, and generative AI to solve practical business problems.
Our work is grounded in measurable outcomes rather than hype. We also convene executive roundtables, workshops, industry events, and community programs that connect leaders across manufacturing, supply chain, technology, data, and AI.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Social Media & Marketing Intern to support PRAKTIKAI’s content, events, community engagement, and day-to-day marketing operations. The intern will work directly with the leadership team on active campaigns and events, with clear learning objectives tied to their academic program. This role is well suited to a student who writes clearly, has good visual judgement, follows through on details, and wants hands‑on experience in B2B marketing within a small, quick‑moving consulting firm.
- Type: Part‑time student internship / academic field placement
- Term: Winter 2027 academic term
- Schedule: Flexible around the student’s academic schedule; hours to align with program requirements
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Social media and content: Create, edit, schedule, and maintain content for LinkedIn and other relevant channels; draft event promotions, company announcements, short articles, client stories, and campaign copy; repurpose presentations, event recordings, articles, and longer‑form material into concise social content; maintain an editorial calendar; and monitor channel performance.
- Event and community marketing: Support promotion of executive breakfasts, workshops, roundtables, conferences,
and community events; create event pages across relevant platforms; prepare invitations, reminders, speaker materials, attendee communications, and post‑event follow‑up; organize reusable event content; and support partner and attendee outreach.
- Marketing operations and creative support: Maintain campaign files, templates, brand assets, contact lists, and content libraries; assist with one‑pagers, case studies, presentations, newsletters, landing‑page copy, and other materials; conduct light market and competitor research; maintain CRM information; and test practical AI‑assisted workflows with human review and appropriate confidentiality.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program that includes a required internship, co‑op, practicum, or field placement
- Based in the Greater Toronto Area and able to attend in‑person work sessions and events in Toronto when required
- Strong English writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an ability to write clearly for a professional audience
- Good judgement, reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several deadlines without close supervision
- Comfort using LinkedIn and an interest in professional, B2B, or community‑focused social media
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
- Ability to handle internal, partner, attendee,
and prospective‑client information responsibly
Useful, but not required:
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, or similar design and video tools
- Experience creating short‑form video, basic photography, social graphics, newsletters, or event content
- Familiarity with social scheduling, email marketing, website content management, analytics, CRM, or event platforms
- Interest in manufacturing, supply chain, consulting, entrepreneurship, data, automation, or AI
- A portfolio, student project, campus role, volunteer experience, or personal channel that demonstrates relevant work
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Plan and execute a qualified B2B content calendar from idea through publication and measurement
- Adapt messages for executive, technical, community, and event audiences
- Build practical experience with event promotion, partner communications, and post‑event content reuse
- Create portfolio‑ready work across social media, written content, campaign assets, and reporting
- Learn how a consulting firm connects marketing activity to relationships, opportunities, and measurable business outcomes
COMPENSATION
- To be confirmed based on the placement structure and applicable program requirements
PRAKTIKAI welcomes applications from qualified students and will provide reasonable accommodation during the selection process upon request.
PLACEMENT ELIGIBILITY
This opportunity is intended for a student whose academic program requires or formally recognizes a work placement. The final schedule, learning objectives, supervision, documentation, compensation status, and other terms will be confirmed with the student and their institution before the placement begins.
