Build hardware test automation with Ciena in Ottawa, using C#, Python, and Java during a four-month Winter 2027 co-op.

This full-time co-op contributes to automation software supporting hardware development testing across telecommunications technologies. You will work with a team to gather requirements, develop framework features, and verify changes using test equipment. The work includes 400G pluggable optics and Ciena’s proprietary WL5e Line optics.

Key Responsibilities:

- Add features to a recent automation framework
- Use test equipment and automation software
- Test and verify hardware development changes
- Collect requirements from team members and specifications
- Write Excel VBA macros for data functions

Requirements:

- Active enrollment in Computer Science or Engineering
- Programming experience with C#, Python, and Java
- Experience with Microsoft .NET and Microsoft Visual Studio
- Understanding of object-oriented software development concepts
- Willingness to work onsite occasionally in Ottawa
