Job Summary The Pharmacy Assistant supports pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing accurate, timely service to patients and healthcare teams. This role helps maintain organized medication and supply workflows, assists with routine administrative tasks, and contributes to a secure, respectful patient-care environment. Hospital experience and pharmacy technician experience are helpful but not required. Responsibilities
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and restocking medications and pharmacy supplies under the direction of licensed pharmacy staff.
- Support prescription and medication workflows by preparing materials and completing assigned non-clinical tasks.
- Help maintain accurate records, inventory, and documentation in accordance with pharmacy procedures.
- Communicate courteously with patients and healthcare staff, directing clinical questions to a pharmacist or other appropriate professional.
- Use medical terminology appropriately when handling routine communications and documentation.
- Follow established procedures for medication storage, handling, and security.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area and help monitor inventory for shortages or expired items.




- Support patient care by helping pharmacy staff coordinate timely service while protecting patient privacy.
- Perform only duties permitted by applicable law, training, and supervision; medication administration must be performed only when authorized and appropriately qualified. Requirements
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to accuracy.
- Explicit communication and customer-service skills, with a respectful approach to patient care.
- Ability to follow instructions, protect confidential information, and work collaboratively with pharmacy and healthcare staff.
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn pharmacy systems and procedures.
- Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
- Hospital experience and pharmacy technician experience are preferred, but not required.
- Understanding of medication administration is helpful; this position does not authorize independent medication administration.
- Ability to meet applicable employer and regulatory requirements for the work setting. Pay: From $22.75 per hour Expected hours: No more than 40.0 per week
