Position Overview

Canco is hiring a Gas Attendant for its Mitchell location. This role is ideal for someone with robust customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service
Greet customers and assist with fueling
Answer questions and provide general assistance

Maintenance & Cleanliness
Clean fuel pumps, restrooms, store areas, and fuel islands
Pick up litter and maintain overall station cleanliness

Safety & Compliance
Follow all fuel handling, safety, and environmental regulations
Respond to emergencies (fuel spills, fires, medical incidents)
Use safety equipment (e.g., gloves, safety glasses)

Operations & Inventory
Track fuel sales, transactions, and inventory




Update fuel price displays accurately
Monitor fuel levels in underground tanks
Restock store merchandise (snacks, drinks, etc.)
Notify management when inventory is low

Cash Handling & Equipment
Process payments (cash, debit/credit, mobile)
Operate POS systems
Manage fuel pumps and different fuel types (gas, diesel, ethanol blends)

Qualifications

Required:
Customer service or retail experience
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Good communication skills
Ability to stand for long periods
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
Basic cash handling and POS system skills

Preferred:
Experience in gas stations, petroleum, or convenience stores

Work Setting
On-site position at the Mitchell Canco location
Physical role requiring standing, movement, and multitasking

Job Types: Full-time, Part time

Pay: From $17.95 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
Mitchell, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Licence/Certification:
Food Safety Certification (required)
