Job Overview - Small Engine Technician

We are seeking a Small Engine Technician to join our team. This role involves servicing Walk Behind Mowers, Garden Tractors, Generators, Pressure Washers and other small 2-stroke equipment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of small-scale engine components and diagnostic logic. This position offers an chance to work in a agile setting in which you would be driving our van and going to our customer homes to service their small engine equipment.

Diagnose and Test: Inspect equipment and run diagnostic tests using hand tools, gauges, and electronic devices to find mechanical or electrical faults.

Repair and Overhaul: Repair or replace defective parts (such as pistons, carburetors, valves, and gears), and reassemble components.

Routine Maintenance: Perform scheduled tune-ups, oil changes, spark plug replacements, and lubrication.

Customer Service:



Consult with customers regarding equipment problems, provide repair cost estimates, and explain completed work.

Record Keeping: Log time spent, parts used, and maintenance records for shop accountability.

Dexterity: Steady hand-eye coordination for precision work with small parts and hand tools.

Education: Typically requires a high school diploma followed by on-the-job training or a vocational certificate.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy equipment, and bend or kneel.

Must have a clean driving record.
