Position Summary CHIN 111: Introductory Mandarin Chinese I This course will focus on introducing contemporary standard Chinese (Mandarin) language and culture, including the Chinese pronunciation system, essential vocabulary and grammar, reading and writing Chinese characters.
Communicative competence and cross-cultural awareness are emphasized.
Position Requirements • At least a B.A. in a related discipline. • Native or near-native fluency in the target language as well as in English. • Experience and evidence of teaching ability in the relevant language.
Applicants with more teaching experience in the area in question, at the university level, will normally have preference over others.
