As a Diesel Service Attendant, you will move, fuel, clean, test, and perform basic locomotive repairs. The work supports operational reliability through inspections, equipment servicing, parts assessment, and safety-focused maintenance. This entry point provides foundational locomotive maintenance experience and technical development toward CPKC’s Locomotive Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship Program.

Key Responsibilities:

- Refuel and sand locomotives while stocking cab amenities
- Inspect locomotives, fuel tanks, and cab equipment
- Perform basic repairs supporting operational reliability




- Clean and service locomotive cabs and facilities
- Test electrical systems, safety devices, and cab brakes

Requirements:

- High school diploma or general equivalency
- Valid driver’s license and driving history verification
- Minimum one year working around heavy equipment
- Availability for all shifts and weather conditions
- Ability to read English safety instructions and pass examinations

Support CPKC locomotive reliability through fueling, inspection, cleaning, testing, repairs, and strict safety compliance every shift.
