Operate mowing and snow removal equipment as a part time General Maintenance Worker at Northern College’s Timmins campus. Apply practical repair skills daily.

Reporting to the Manager, Facilities and Maintenance, this position performs semi-skilled tasks connected with one or more skilled trades. Work supports Northern College buildings and grounds through minor repairs, equipment maintenance, and general upkeep. The regular part-time schedule includes up to 24 hours weekly, with shifts identified at hiring.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate grass mowing machines and snow removal equipment
- Complete daily minor repairs to buildings and grounds
- Build cupboards and install locks or notice boards
- Paint and perform general maintenance tasks
- Move supplies and furniture as needed

Requirements:

- Secondary school completion or equivalent
- Three years of practical related-field experience
- Advanced reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
- Ability to perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks
- Criminal record check may be required
