Maintain municipal and airport equipment as a General Mechanic with the Town of Moosonee, using diesel diagnostics and repair expertise. Work full time in Moosonee, Ontario.

This permanent Public Works and Airport Operations position supports vehicles, heavy equipment, snow-removal units, generators, pumps, and small engines. You will inspect, diagnose, service, and repair equipment supporting essential Northern services. The role normally follows a Monday-to-Friday, 40-hour week, with required on-call and after-hours duties.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair gasoline, diesel, and small-engine equipment
- Complete preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing documentation
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, drivetrain, brake, and steering systems




- Repair snow-removal and airside snow-clearing equipment
- Respond to breakdowns, call-outs, and winter storm operations

Requirements:

- Experience repairing heavy equipment and heavy trucks
- Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and diagnostics
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and drawings
- Welding and fabrication skills for shop and field repairs
- Valid Ontario Class G licence; DZ licence held or obtained
