The Computational Biologist joins EIT’s Bioinformatics platform team and collaborates with phenotyping and research teams. You will build computational tools, robust data pipelines, visualisation tools, and agentic workflow inputs. The work translates complex datasets into actionable insights for plant research and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Translate biological questions into computational approaches and testable hypotheses
Prepare multi-omics and imaging datasets for model ingestion
Integrate transcriptomics, metabolomics, and proteomics datasets
Develop image segmentation, feature extraction,
and phenotyping pipelines
Link image-derived phenotypes with molecular signatures
Requirements:
PhD or equivalent research experience in a related discipline
Independently develop and evaluate computational biological methods
Experience with at least two omics types
Experience applying computer vision to biological datasets
Communicate findings and collaborate with scientific teams
Bring multi-omics, computer vision, and computational biology expertise to advance plant research at EIT Oxford.
