- hospital care within their scope of practice. EMR’s are responsible for public education, equipment and facility maintenance, and administrative tasks. Casual EMR employees receive an hourly wage of $32.47 and are eligible for shift premiums and overtime pay.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, rescues, and other emergency situations
- Operate and maintain ambulance, tools, and equipment in a protected and efficient manner.
- Participate in ongoing training programs and maintain required certifications and competencies.
- Support community safety initiatives
- Adhere to all corporate and department safety protocols and procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform administrative duties as required.
- Be available for emergency overtime callbacks at any time of day or night,
as required to support operational needs. Ability to educate and engage with the public on fire safety and prevention
- Perform other related duties as assigned Required
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Valid Class 4 MB C Driver’s License.
- Current EMR license/certification (be registered with the College of Paramedics)
- Normal hearing without artificial aids.
- Vision: Minimum 20/100 unaided, 20/40 corrected in both eyes.
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and at least 18 years of age.
- Physically fit and medically able to perform duties.
