Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its team specializing in insurance coverage and strategic litigation management.This role differs from a traditional litigation practice. The lawyer will primarily act as a strategic advisor to insurers, particularly in complex matters involving construction, professional liability, and financial risks in Canada and the United States.This position is particularly well suited for a lawyer who enjoys analyzing complex matters, developing strategies, negotiating, and maintaining an overall view of litigation, while collaborating with defence counsel responsible for representing clients before the courts.The RoleYou will be responsible for:Analyzing litigation matters and assessing legal and financial risks for insurersAdvising clients on defence, settlement, and case management strategiesSupervising and coordinating the work of defence counsel retained in various jurisdictionsProviding strategic oversight of litigation matters and communicating regularly with insurersParticipating in negotiations and mediationsAnalyzing various insurance policies and advising clients on coverage mattersHandling insurance coverage disputesDeveloping and maintaining trusted relationships with a primarily international insurer client baseDepending on the candidate’s interests,



opportunities to appear before the courts in insurance coverage matters may also be available.Your ProfileMember in good standing of a Canadian BarMinimum of 5 years of relevant experience in litigation, insurance law, insurance coverage, or litigation managementCivil law and/or common law backgroundExcellent command of both French and English, written and spokenStrong analytical, synthesis, and drafting skillsAbility to manage multiple complex matters simultaneouslyStrong strategic judgment and excellent negotiation skillsAbility to communicate effectively with sophisticated international clientsDirect experience in insurance coverage is considered a significant asset.
