As Staff Security Engineer, Bot and Traffic Defence, you will set technical direction for automated traffic protection. You will build scalable controls and signals across edge security, detection, and scoring. The work spans Security, Platform, service teams, and Anti-Abuse.
Key Responsibilities: Own bot, scraping, and application-layer DDoS strategy
Author WAF rules, rate limits, and challenge mechanisms
Build bot and trust signals for safer enforcement
Design distributed layer 7 rate limiting
Lead incident reviews and establish ownership models
Requirements: Production ownership of CDN or edge security platforms
Experience defending high-traffic sites against scraping and DDoS
Understanding of TLS, HTTP, behavioural, and attestation signals
Experience designing distributed layer 7 rate limiting
Fluency with code, infrastructure as code, and cloud environments
Bring security engineering, traffic analysis, and incident leadership to Faire's bot defence and scalable platform controls.
