Operate landfill machinery for the City of Brandon in a full-time permanent Equipment Operator Level 3 position. Use excavators, dozers, loaders, and compactors safely.
Working within Solid Waste and Public Works, you will support safe, effective operations at the City’s Landfill and Material Recovery Facility. The position requires equipment operation, servicing, manual tasks, and adherence to safety regulations. You may also supervise section labourers and other equipment operators.
Key Responsibilities: Operate excavators, dozers, rock trucks, loaders, and compactors
Perform pre-trip inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and refuelling
Complete minor adjustments or request equipment repairs
Follow drawings, stakes, hand signals, and directions




Perform manual tasks across landfill, MRF, and compost operations
Requirements: Grade 12, GED, CAEC, or mature high school diploma
Valid Manitoba Class 3 licence with Air Endorsement
Current driver’s abstract and two years’ relevant experience
Ability to operate Equipment Operator 3 classified equipment
Required certifications, including WHMIS, LOB, forklift, and TDG
Bring proven equipment operation, servicing, and safety skills to City of Brandon landfill and material recovery operations.
