This hands-on Assistant Produce Manager works alongside the Produce Manager to lead staff and maintain department performance. Use produce ordering, rotation, merchandising, quality control, POS software, and basic spreadsheets. Support a locally owned market serving local growers, vendors, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan orders around sales, seasonality, promotions, and stock levels
Build attractive displays featuring seasonal and local products
Check freshness, rotate stock, and coordinate returns
Maintain pricing, signage, movement records, and inventory counts




Train staff and communicate daily department priorities

Requirements:
Previous produce experience and one year managing or supervising
Knowledge of ordering, merchandising, rotation, and quality control
Solid organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
Confidence using ordering systems, POS, and basic spreadsheets
Availability for diverse shifts and one weekend day
