The role supports students with personal care, mobility, behaviour management, program support, and positive interactions. A related two-year Nova Scotia Department of Education-certified program must include significant Special Education content and a supervised practicum of at least 100 hours.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with mobility, routines, feeding, and personal hygiene
Administer medication and oral inhalants according to guidelines




Support behaviour plans and record directed observations
Communicate student information to teachers and appropriate personnel
Promote independence, dignity, respect, and positive interactions

Requirements:
High school completion certificate
Related two-year course with significant Special Education content
Supervised practicum of at least 100 hours
First Aid, CPR, and required healthcare training
Basic computer skills and assistive technology training
