Michael’s Hospital team as we work to put patients and families at the center of everything we do, in the role of Physiotherapist on our Heart, Lung and Vascular Program. The primary role of a physiotherapist is to assess, diagnose within scope, and analyze the impact of injury, disease, disorders, setting factors or lifestyle on movement and function. Physiotherapists promote physical activity and overall health at any stage of life when movement and function are threatened. They prevent and rehabilitate disease, injury, and disability, and manage and improve acute and chronic conditions, activity limitations, participation restrictions and physical performance through intervention and education. Provides Physiotherapy services for inpatients admitted to Cardiac/Vascular, Cardiology and CVICU/CICU within Heart, Lung and Vascular Program,



as well as commitment in MSICU, General Surgery and Nephrology. Hours of work are split between all of the units listed. Contributes to the academic mandate of the organization as an educator, resource or support for staff and members of the academic and professional community Is committed to and participates in ongoing quality improvement and/or research in the organization Must be currently licensed by and in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) for practice in all applicable clinical areas ~ Must hold a Master’s Degree (or substantial equivalent) in Physiotherapy ~ 1-2 years experience in acute medical or surgical unit, and ICU is preferred ~ Experience working with Cardiovascular/Cardiology patient population is preferred ~ Unity Health Toronto is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive organization.
