Lead geotechnical investigations and advanced analyses remotely from anywhere in South Africa, using foundation engineering and slope stability expertise.
This experienced Lead Geotechnical Engineer will guide national and international infrastructure projects for a global engineering and design firm. The work covers site characterization, subsurface exploration, laboratory testing, and complex analyses. It also includes technical oversight, design reporting, and remote team mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead site characterization, subsurface exploration, and laboratory testing programs
Analyze foundations, slopes, soil structures, and seismic conditions
Prepare geotechnical reports, recommendations, and specifications
Review and approve geotechnical designs and reports
Mentor remote engineers and technicians while managing project delivery
Requirements:
Master’s degree or PhD in geotechnical engineering
Qualified Engineer registration with ECSA
At least 10 years’ progressive engineering experience
At least five years in a leadership capacity
Plaxis, GeoStudio, or FLAC proficiency with project management skills
