Apply mechanical aptitude to bus cleaning, fueling, and equipment operation for the City of Burlington Transit team. This temporary work is in person.
As a General Service Person, you will help ensure the fleet is cleaned, fueled, and ready for dispatch. The work includes automatic bus washing, power washing, vacuuming, fluid dispensing, and vehicle inspections. Reporting to Transit Maintenance, you will also support Operations with vehicle change-offs.
Key Responsibilities: Operate power washers, vacuums, automatic bus washes, and dispensers
Perform detailed interior cleaning on all Transit vehicles
Complete exterior cleaning with cleaning and detergent products
Inspect tires and vehicle fluid levels
Support bus change-offs required by Operations
Requirements: Grade 12 education
Valid Ontario GZ licence
Ability to upgrade to a CZ class licence
Mechanical inclination with tools and equipment
Acceptable driver’s abstract and no administrative licence suspensions
Bring equipment skills, mechanical aptitude, and cleaning discipline to Burlington Transit’s fleet preparation and vehicle service operations.
