Drive light vehicles for the Department of National Defence in Halifax, using passenger-vehicle or five-ton truck experience. This is an on-site position.
DND is staffing one English Essential position in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The work supports daily taskings through vehicle operation, cargo handling, inspections, and required records. Candidates must demonstrate relevant driving experience and meet applicable security, licensing, and physical requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Drive passenger vehicles carrying up to fifteen passengers
Operate five-ton trucks for assigned daily taskings
Secure and unload cargo safely when required
Complete logbooks, inspection reports, and required documentation
Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance
Requirements: Experience driving passenger vehicles or operating five-ton trucks
Willingness to obtain and retain a DND 404 driver’s license
Ability to work fully in office in Halifax
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kilograms
Reliability, Secret, or Top Secret security clearance, as applicable
Bring dependable vehicle operation, safety awareness, and qualifying driving experience to DND’s Halifax transportation work.
